Interesting facts have emerged about how Railways Minister John Peter Amewu virtually monopolised the wife of Paul List, the CEO of mining company BCM Group on the eve and the day of Valentine.
In a recorded confrontation intercepted by Whatsup News, Amewu had spent the night of February 13 with Angela List in her matrimonial home till 2 am at dawn. On Valentine’s Day, he had returned with goodies and again usurped Paul List’s chance to spend the romantic period with his wife.
Paul List in the intercepted conversation also accused Amewu of once bringing food to his home and feasting on it with his wife without him being invited, even though he was home on the day.
Paul described Amewu’s attitude as “insulting” and “disrespectful” and had once angrily vowed to beat up Amewu for virtually seducing his wife with his “philandering”.
“For instance, on Valentine’s Day, on valentine’s night, I come home and you are here till 2 o’clock in the morning. Any husband will find that insulting, disrespectful,” Paul List accosted Amewu.
“On Valentine’s Day…we were all together. You were here,” Amewu replied, but Paul cuts in saying, “I was upstairs with Michel…John I was here, you were here, I retired to bed, I thought you would excuse yourself and I came down and you are still here….”
In the ensuing argument, Amewu attempted to justify his presence at the home of another man on Valentine’s Day while his own wife was all by herself. “We were all talking…when I was leaving, I think you came down before I left…and I left. What is wrong about that?”
Paul charged back: “… 2 o’clock in the morning is just too much, and the next day you were here. You were here on Valentine’s Day, virtually all day…and I think you took Angie to the airport…”
Below is an extract of the heated conversation that ensued when it was revealed that Paul List had planned to attack Amewu physically for his incursions on his wife Angela:
Amewu: But Paul, when it comes to one on one, you can’t stand me…(Laughs loudly)
Paul: Whether I could or whether I couldn’t, I should have to…
Amewu: …You want to fight me?
Paul: (cuts in)…because I thought what you were doing was very disrespectful to me as a husband…Whether I could beat you or not, I don’t know, but at the end of the day, I wouldn’t be frightened of you. That is for sure…
Paul then goes ahead to disclose how his wife Angela List had snitched on him to Peter Amewu about a suspicion that Paul might tell Peter Amewu’s wife about his relationship with his wife.
The following conversation then ensued:
Paul: …As God is my witness, it was told to me, and as God is my witness, it was also told to me about John (Peter Amewu)…John, you were saying that I’ve got a terrible reputation, that I have been a philanderer, have I?
Amewu: I said you are more Philanderer than I am, according to your record….
Paul: What record is that…
Amewu: (Cuts in)…What record do you know about me? Where did you hear my rumour from?
Paul: No, you are saying my record. What does my record say? What does my record say?
Amewu: Go and look at it…
Paul: Well, if it’s a true record, it will show that I have been monogamous to this wife for over 22 years.
Angela: (turning to Amewu) You are talking about his past aren’t you? He [her husband] is talking about your present…He is talking about your past. You [her husband] need to take the log out of your eyes…
Paul: (interrupts)…Whatever John knows about my past is what you have mentioned to him…
Amewu: (cuts in), But she didn’t mention anything to me… There are a thousand Ghanaians who know you, it is very dangerous in this country if you don’t know….Do you want me to tell you?
Paul: Yes…
Amewu:…I will bring it out. I am going to start telling her now who you are, maybe she doesn’t know. I will tell her now, I will bring the evidence to her…I will tell her about your past and let the people know…
Paul: (chuckles)…What have I done in my past that is disreputable?
Amewu: (silence)…
Paul: I have been a very loyal and monogamous husband to this woman…
Amewu: Before you got married to her…
Paul: Before I got married to her?
Amewu: Yes…
Paul: Before I got married to her, I have done things that were not right and I reformed….Anyway, what I am trying to tell you, John, is that the amount of time you spend with my wife, I find it perverse and it is inappropriate, okay?
When I hear these things, like this rumour, It causes me concerns…I was hoping that you’d be a friend. I have times when you’ve been here and Angie had been disrespectful to me in front of you. Hadn’t seen any effort on your side to [call her to order].”
The argument escalates further as Paul List reveals how once Peter Amewu had brought food to the matrimonial home of the Lists and had left him out As Amewu and Angela feasted in his home with him observing as an outsider.
