Let’s prepare for likely economic shutdown after Covid-19 – Alhaji Salamu Amadu

The CEO of Afro Arab Group Alhaji Salamu Amadu has cautioned the business community in Ghana to prepare for likely event economic after shutdown after the world fight of the deadly virus “COVID-19”.

In his usual Facebook post has advice the business to hope for the best and prepare for worse however he was disappointed how the entire nation look-on for COVID-19 safely entered Ghana.

THE POST: “Let’s hope for the best and prepare for the worse, the truth is the Covid-19 Corona Virus will have a negative effect for both the rich and poor because it will negatively affect our economy.

My kind advice is to get prepared we should not seat down and wait until things get worse like the way we seat for Corona to beat us  before we start looking for solutions especially in our finances  , You can’t do anything in this life without money therefore we need to look at our money mattes urgently.”

Ghana became the first sub-Saharan African country to cut interest rates in response to the coronavirus pandemic, reducing its benchmark to an eight-year low.

The monetary policy rate was reduced to 14.5% from 16%, the first cut since January 2019, the Bank of Ghana said in an emailed statement on Wednesday. The Monetary Policy Committee was originally scheduled to announce its decision on March 23.

Growth in gross domestic product could decline to 5% and could even slow to 2.5% in a worst-case scenario, said the central bank. The International Monetary Fund’s most recent growth forecast for Ghana was 5.6%.”

As part of the company’s Cooperate Social Responsibility (CSR), Afro-Arab Group of Companies, under the leadership of Alhaji Salamu Amadu, has distributed about four thousand hand sanitizers to Zongo communities to help combat the spread of the virus.
