Richard Adjei Mensah Ofori-Atta aka Tom-Tom, the head of protocol at the Jubilee House and a member of the campaign team of the Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh has been spotted spraying thousands of United States dollars on guests who attended his birthday party on Sunday, December 13, 2020.
The video in the possession of Whatsup News shows Tom Tom spraying fresh US$100 notes and was clutching a bundle that could easily amount to US$ 10,000 with an extra cache in a small money bag he was holding.
The guests were hardly perturbed by the hard currency being sprayed on them as they danced nonchalantly with the money flying all over the even.
His display of opulence has become a standard characteristic s of people working closely with President Akufo Addo at the Jubilee House, even though the government has kept complaining of tough economic times in Ghana.
Tom Tom is popularly known for his role in organising the 20 years’ anniversary celebration for the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II’ at the Manhyia Palace in 2019 and was responsible for organizing the maiden Africa Premier Leadership Awards which honoured the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II with the ‘Pillar of Peace’ Award.
Essentially, Ofori-Atta has the pedigree with a track record of organizing several local and international programmes. But critics think the display is a rub in the face of Ghanaians who have endured some four years of corruption scandals by the Akufo Addo administration, to which he plays a part in.
Meanwhile, Tom Tom is known to be very instrumental to the campaign of Dr. Opoku-Prempeh, who is the New Patriotic Party Member of Parliament for the Manhyia South Constituency.
