Ablekuma Central NDC Demands Arrest Of NPP Gurus Over Election-Related Gun Violence

The Ablekuma Central constituency branch of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) is demanding the arrest and prosecution of outgoing MP for the area, Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey, and two others, who unleashed gun violence at a collation center during the collation of results for Parliamentary election for the Constituency.

The other two are Presidential Staffer, Lord Commey and a notorious thug popularly known as ‘Kola’ who is said to be a member of the NPP’s most notorious goon squad, the Invisible Forces. Kola is also a personal bodyguard of Lord Commey.

Kola is said to have discharged a firearm and shot into an unarmed crowd of NDC supporters and journalists during collation, wounding at least five, two of them, critically.

“We are by this Press release calling on the Police to also arrest and prosecute the Member of Parliament, Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey, Presidential Staffer Lord Commey and all the goons that were brought into the constituency to steal the elections for the NPP,” the NDC wrote in a statement.

The statement which was signed by the Ablekuma Central Communications Officer for the NDC, Vivian Sallar, gave a chronology of events was given, with the NDC saying it has video evidence of everything.

“At the end of the voting process, the ballots were transported to the Odorkor Divisional Headquarters for collation and announcement. 

“It was during the collation that the outgoing Member of Parliament Hon. Ebenezer Nii Narh Nartey and Director of Operations at the Jubilee House Lord Commey decided to unleash their thugs on constituents who had gathered at the collation centre to listen to the results,” the NDC alleged.

It said two other supporters of the National Democratic Congress were also shot in a separate incident at the premises of the collation centre. 

“This brings the number of people hit by the stray bullet to five. The five are; One Police Officer, a journalist by name Pius Asiedu Kwanin, Rashid (Red), Ibrahim Abass and Arafat,” the NDC stated.
