The bad blood between the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) and Peace FM has been whipped up once more as the Communications Officer for the NDC, Sammy Gyamfi, insists the party will not honour any invitation by the radio station for the panel discussion on its flagship morning show “Korokoo”.
In a widely circulating twitter message, Sammy Gyamfi described Peace FM’s Kokrokoo programme as “overhyped” and that the NDC feel no qualms in refusing to appear on the show which they had boycotted in May 2020.
“For the records, the NDC has never and will never beg to appear on Peace FM’s Kookrokoo. The Comm. Bureau that I lead, does not intend to ever return to that show. The NDC brand is far greater than that overhyped platform. Our boycott still stands. Ignore the lies. #BaakoLied,” Sammy Gyamfi wrote on twitter on September 19, 2020.
The NDC boycotted Peace FM’s morning show in May 2020 after describing the party’s communications outfit described the show’s host as partial towards the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
“The National Communication Bureau of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) wishes to inform all its communicators, media monitors, and officials that the party has boycotted Peace (104.3) FM’s morning show (Kookrokoo) effective today, Wednesday, 6th May 2020,” the NDC wrote in May when it boycotted the platform.]
There were reports that the NDC had been scheming behind closed doors to get back onto the show, but Sammy Gyamfi has debunked that prospect with his tweet
