COVID-19 Infections Heading To 33,000

The country has recorded 582 new coronavirus infections, ticking up the country’s tally to 32,437.

Update from a tweet by the Ghana Health Service says however that the death toll remains at 161.

There have been 28,927 clinical recoveries according to the Service with active cases now pegged at 3,349. Out of this number 23 are in severe conditions.

According to the tweet, the update pertains to, “samples taken from June 29 to July 22, 2020, but reported from the lab on July 23.”

Greater Accra continues to remain the region with the most infections at 16,716, infections, and therefore highest active cases at 1,773.

Ashanti Region has the second-highest infections with a total of 7,866 cases, Western Region and Central Regions follow with 2,539 and 2,539 cases each.

The rest are: Eastern Region has 1,214 cases, Volta Region – 577, Bono East Region – 434, Bono Region – 426, Northern Region – 302, Western North Region – 298, Upper East Region – 282, and Oti Region – 172.

Ahafo Region has 121 cases, Upper West Region – 75, Savannah Region – 57 and North East Region – 9.
