Two Coronavirus Patients At Old Fadama Run Away From Treatment

Two slum dwellers of Old Fadama in Accra popularly called Sodom and Gomorrah, are on the run after they tested positive for the deadly coronavirus, Whatsup News has gathered.

Said to be head porters (Kayayei), they fled after testing positive three days ago, to elude contact tracers who are looking for them to put under quarantine and treatment.

They allegedly fled because there is a rumour in the Old Fadama shanty town that President Akufo-Addo is a vampire who is collecting human blood for rituals, and would use their blood for some evil purpose if they allow contact tracers to collect any more samples from them.

This shocking superstition is said to be supported by community leaders  who are backing the escape of the two kayayei girls after the girls had frustrated attempts to get them to obey isolation protocols.

Worryingly, the two are said to have been sharing a single room with fifteen other people, including children. As they have never travelled outside the country, the indication is that they contracted the virus locally at the Old Fadama inner-city slum.

Contact tracers have tried to reach them on phone but they mostly do not pick their calls and when they do, they announce that they are far away from the community. Potentially, these brainwashed infected persons are spreading the virus which causes the deadly Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19).

Six people have died from the disease in the country with 313 infected persons traced and quarantined or placed under treatment.

These two kayayei girls are not the first coronavirus infected persons who have escaped isolation and treatment. Weeks ago, a Guinean woman who, along with ten other countrymen of hers had tested positive for the virus, scaled the walls of a hotel in Tamale where she was being held and escaped under the cover of night. She has since not been found.
