The Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) has released a new schedule for power outages in the Greater Accra Region.
The planned outages are to commence from May 27 to June 11, 2021.
According to the Managing Director of ECG, Mr. Kwame Agyeman-Budu, the planned outage is to enable the completion of construction works on the Kasoa Bulk Supply Point.
It is also to help the Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo) undertake work on the 161KV Plant.
This new spell of dumsor follows a similar exercise that ended last week, also said to make way for work to be completed on the Pokuase Bulk Power Supply Plant.
This next phase of outages will be timed for the evenings, from 6 pm to midnight.
Several areas will be affected and they have been grouped into three – A, B and C for effective management of the schedule.
Group A includes Cantonments, Golden Tulip, Alliance Francaise, Osu RE, Abelemkpe, Awudome, Kaneshie Market, Sampa Valley and Tetegu.
The rest are Banana Inn, Abease, Gbawe Top Base, Mataheko, Glefe, Akoko Photo, Wesley Grammar, Teshie Maamli, Teshie Composite Plant, Agbleezaa, Yomo Specs, La, Nanakrom, Martey Tsuru, Airport Hills, Max Mart, Otanor, Zoomlion and Ashaley Botwe Old Town.
Group B includes Nima, Tesano, Dzorwulu, Roman Ridge, Airport Residential Area, Bubuashie, Dansoman SSNIT Flats, Ayigbe Town, Bulemi, Gbegbeyisee, Agege, West Hills Mall, Sunday Factory, Kokrobite,Bortianor, Westland, Haatso, Great Estates, Kisseiman, Obideden, Regimanuel Estates, Tse Addoman, Legon Hills and Little Roses.
Group C includes Kotobabi, Abavana, Maamobi, Pig Farm, Cable & Wireless, Bubuashie, North Kaneshie, El Wak Barracks, Cantoments Post Office, Trinity House, Aplaku, Dansoman Control Market, Weija Old Barrier, Russia, Supra, Osofo Dadzie, Gbawe, Oblogo, Djaman, Manet Gardens, Frimpongmaa Estates, Sraha, East Legon, Ajorman, Airport Residential Area, Teshie Tebibiano, La Beach Hotel, La Palm Beach Hotel, Oshiyie and Achimota School.
