President Akufo-Addo’s hometown chief, Amoatia Ofori Panin, has reportedly stolen an idea by Togbe Afede XIV, King of Asogli State to organize a conference of African Traditional Leaders.
Whatsup News has gathered from reliable sources that after Togbe Afede muscled out of his position as the President of the National House of Chiefs, allegedly through bribes, the conspiracy reportedly linked to the Jubilee House is now involving the implementation of a brainchild program that Togbe had intended to implement while at the House of Chiefs.
Ofori Panin Fie, the stool house of Akyem Abuakwa is currently hosting a two-day consultative meeting of ECOWAS Traditional and Religious leaders.
Already, questions have emerged as to why the Palace in Kyebi, rather than the seat of government in Accra, Jubilee House, is hosting this novel Pan-African program
While in office as the President of the National House of Chiefs, Togbe Afede had conceived the idea as the first step towards the creation of a union of African traditional leaders, (the Africa Traditional Leaders Union).
Togbe Afede had announced the novel program at a meeting of the House of Chiefs. Unbeknownst to him, the Okyenhene and the Akufo-Addo Jubilee House were clandestinely working through some of the chiefs in the House of Chiefs to oust him [Togbe Afede].
The ouster happened during an election that was held last year when some chiefs were reportedly bribed to vote for the current President of the House of Chiefs, Ogyeahohuo Yaw Gyebi II, the Paramount Chief of Sefwi Anwiaso.
It is alleged that some USD70, 000 changed hands to ensure that Togbe Afede was ousted.
The Agbogbomefia of Asogli had apparently stepped on the toes of the Okyehene when he waded into the Eastern Regional House Chiefs (ERHC) royal impasse between the King of New Juaben, Daasebre Dr. Oti Biateng, and the Okyenhene, Amoatia Ofori Panin.
The king of Okyeman had been accused by the New Juaben King of scheming to become puppet master of the ERHC, by deliberately using his position as the President of the ERHC, to institute changes in the composition of the House so that the majoritarian number of new sub-chiefs admitted to the ERHC would be from Akyem Abuakwa.
Daasebre Oti Boateng had fought a paper war with the Okyehene over the moves and petitioned the National House of Chiefs, as part of the fightback.
Togbe Afede who was then the President of the National House of Chiefs had sided with the New Juaben king and asked the Okyenhene to reverse the moves to make the ERHC a lopsided House in favor of the Akyem Abuakwa stool.
After Togbe Afede had been voted out as President of the National House of Chiefs, a claimant to the Akwapem stool, Kwesi Akuffo, had filed a court case in which he had alleged that the Akufo-Addo Jubilee House had called and bribed him to abandon his claim to the Akuapem stool.
It was in the same court documents that he had revealed that former Chieftaincy Minister, Kofi Dzamesi had told him that the Administration had decided to remove Togbe Afede through bribery of other chiefs at the National House of Chiefs.
