Private drivers who say they have regretted criticizing and campaigning against former President John Mahama in 2016, have started what can be described as an appeasement campaign, in which they sell the former President as Ghana’s incoming Joe Biden.
In this regard, the drivers, calling themselves “Drivers For Sankofa,” have printed posters of John Mahama, his Running Mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, along with US President-elect, Joseph Robinette Biden and Vice President-elect, Kamala Harris.
The posters have been shared to commercial drivers, including those who drive minibusses popularly called “trotro” and taxi drivers alike.
Members are vowing to vote out the Akufo-Addo government which they accuse of making life unbearable for them by escalating fuel prices.
In 2016, the same group of drivers had formed “Drivers for Change,” and campaigned vigorously against the then Mahama government.
