LPG Flagbearer Thrown Out Of Manhyia Palace

The Manhyia Palace in Kumasi today, refused the flagbearer of the controversial Liberal Party of Ghana (LPG) Percival Kofi Akpaloo and some of his top executives entry into the respected palace.

Sources from the palace claim the LPG executives did not follow protocols.

It is also reported that the palace had cancelled all arrangements for paying homage to the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu.

An embarrassed Kofi Akpaloo told reporters that despite the restrictions to the palace, he thought the Otumfuo would be convinced to let him in, if he massed up his followers at the gate of the palace in supplication.

However, that obviously failed to convince palace orderlies.

“We were supposed to come last Friday but we received a later notice from the palace, suggesting that we should reschedule our visit to Wednesday. However, we got here last night and the personal secretary to Otumfuo said it’s not going to be possible because of some customs they have to perform,” Akpaloo said.

“But my people had been organised already, we’ve all come all over from Accra to this place and it would have been inappropriate not to go there. So we decided to go there to see if they might reconsider their decision.

Even though being one of the most insignificant political parties in Ghana in terms of voting constituency, Kofi Akpaloo has grandeur expectations of when he will win the presidential elections in Ghana, saying his regime will be a paradise on earth.
