Former NPP MP For Asante Akim North Accused Of Campaigning For NDC

The New Patriotic Party (NPP)’s former MP for Asante Akim North, Kwadwo Baah-Agyemang, has been accused of turning coat and campaigning for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The allegation is from Fredrick Fredua Anto, National Second Vice Chairman of the NPP who has also been tasked to placate all embittered Parliamentary aspirants of the NPP who feel cheated out of the opportunity to contest on the party’s Parliamentary tickets and are contemplating contesting as independent Candidates.

“As a national executive, I have been tasked to smoothen all internal frictions bedeviling our party. Reports I have been receiving indicate that our own Kwadwo Baah Agyeman has turned his back to NPP,” he said on Akoma FM.

According to him, Baah Agyemang who is also the Board Chairman for the National Sports Authority (NSA), has even given his billboards to the NDC Candidate for the area to use.

“…the former MP is now campaigning for NDC because I am aware that he has even given out his billboard to the NDC parliamentary candidate,” he said.

But Baah Agyemang has refuted the allegation saying he is very disappointed in FF Anto for making that claim.

“I am very disappointed in my own national [vice] chairman, even if what he is saying is true is this the way to have gone about it? Is it appropriate to pull out the party’s dirty linen in public?

“I don’t know who fed my national chairman this false information. I have always been loyal and faithful to the party and there is no way I will campaign for NDC,” he said.

Baah Agyemang is one of several failed Parliamentary aspirants who feel they were cheated out of the opportunity to represent the party on its Parliamentary ticket in the 2020 election. He had contested against the incumbent MP, Andy Kwame Appiah-Kubi, but the controversial election had not been supervised by the Electoral Commission. But what is even more shocking is that out of 502 votes cast, Baah Agyemang only got 1 while Appiah-Kubi got 501.
