Blakofe Regrets Campaigning For NPP

A former Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Tourism Development Company, (GTDC), Ms Akua Djanie (aka Blakofe) has expressed regret at campaigning and voting in 2016 for President Akufo Addo and his New Patriotic Party (NPP).

Blakofe was appointed Deputy CEO of GTDC in 2017 but resigned her position after she accused the Tourism Authority and the government of corruption.

According to Blakofe, she was under the wrong impression that President Akufo Addo was going to be better than former President Mahama, but has regrettably realised her mistake and has pleaded with Ghanaians to forgive her for convincing them to vote Akufo Addo.

“This time 4 years ago, I was about to make the biggest mistake of my life. Although I knew and liked Mahama and had encouraged Ghanaians to vote for him, I was frustrated with his government and life in the Asylum,” she posted on her social media.

According to her, at the time, she thought: “if Nana can’t make Ghana work, nobody can…All I can do now is to forgive myself and ask those who voted Nana because of me to also forgive me…” she said.

She is accusing the current NPP administration of corruption and nepotism, like a number of other people who appear to have grown disgruntled with the Akufo Addo government.
