Mahama’s ‘Thank You Tour’ Hits Accra From Tuesday

Former President John Mahama’s post-2020 election gratitude tour of the country hits the Greater Accra Region on the 9th of November, 2021.

A release by the Greater Accra regional Secretariat of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) notifies that the two will span two days within which the former President who is likely to be re-elected to lead the NDC into the 2024 elections will touch a number of important bases.

According to his itinerary for the capital region, will kick start the tour on the 9th with a media engagement on Power FM. He will then meet with the Greater Accra Regional House of Chiefs at Dodowa and then meet with the fisherfolk and market Queens of the Eastern Corridor at a durbar in, New Town, Tema.

The former President will then round up the first day of the Greater Accra regional tour with a meeting with Party Members at the Nii Amui Park, Ashaiman.

Day two of the tour on 10th November opens with a durbar of Chiefs at the Nii Amasa Durbar Grounds at Amasaman. This will later be followed by a meeting with Muslim leaders at the National Mosque.

He will then later hold a meeting with fisher folks and Market Queens of the Southern Corridor at Mantse Agbona, in the Odododiodioo constituency and then climax the tour with a meeting with Party Members of the Southern Corridor at the international Trade Fair center, Dadekotopon.

“By this communiqué, the NDC Regional Secretariat wishes to invite all party members, especially those in the Greater Accra Region to participate in this all-important program by adhering to the program itinerary,” the Mahama’s campaign communique red.

“It is hereby advised that all Covid 19 protocols are to be observed by the participating members of the public and party members to avoid any confrontation with the law,” the release signed by Regional Communications Officer, Jerry Johnson, said.

Former President Mahama has been touring the country to thank voters for supporting him in the 2020 election since August 19. Dubbed the ‘thank you tour,’ it has so far taken him to 15 of the 16 regions of the country.

However, political pundits are certain that the so-called tour is a disguised political campaign as Mahama braces to become the Presidential Candidate of the main opposition party once more.
