Methodist Church On Warpath with Preachers Officiating Gay Weddings

The Methodist Church Ghana will next month meet with Ghanaian Methodist Ministers and members serving under British Conference who are reportedly officiating same-sex marriages in the country.

The Church claims it is investigating all the claims that virtually rubbishes their conservative stance against same-sex unions.

“Next month August, when the Church meets in our Expanded General Purposes meeting, we will give directive concerning whether members and Ministers can carry on their church and personal Christian activities,” Presiding Bishop of the Methodist Church- Ghana, Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo confirmed.

The Methodist Church has become the largest religious denomination in Britain to permit same-sex marriages despite the strong opposition to same by the Methodist Church in Ghana.

According to Most Rev. Dr. Paul Kwabena Boafo, same-sex marriage has no place in the Holy Book as being claimed by some Christians in other parts of the world

“Same-sex relationship neither supported by biblical teaching nor can the Bible position be revised to support it. …The Methodist Church Ghana [therefore] regrets any revisionist interpretation of the Bible that seeks to make same-sex relationship permissible,” he said in what promises to be fireworks in the scheduled meeting.
