Gunmen Shoot Wife Of Dollar-Flaunting GNPC Boss’ Aide

The wife of an aide to Dr. K.K. Sarpong, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC), was gunned down in a disturbing drive-by in Kumasi on Saturday.

Benedicta Abena Pokua was crossed at the forecourt of the Joefel Restaurant at Dichemso, a suburb of Kumasi by the unknown gunmen in a car while she was cruising a white Range Rover and fired on.

She died instantly, as her assailants sped away.

It is believed that the murderers had been targeting her husband, Nana Prempeh, who is said to be notorious for flaunting dollars in videos on social media.

“She was driving ahead of me while I was in a different car. All I saw was someone had rushed her and opened gunfire at her. They shot multiple times and sped off,” Prempeh told Akoma FM.

The white Range Rover in which his wife was cruising had been customized with a number plate, “PREMPEH 1” in the advertisement of the wealth and status of her husband.

Even so, it still is not clear why anybody would just target Nana Prempeh for elimination.

The assailants have since been at large.
