Monumental Goof, As Gender Minister Reappoints, Sacked School Feeding Program Boss

The Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, in a rather curious gaffe, has rescinded her sacking of the National Coordinator of the Ghana School Feeding Programme, Mrs. Getrude Quahsigah.

In a 20th May 2021 letter of rescission, she explains the earlier sack letter of May 18 terminating the appointment of Ms. Quahsigah was an administrative error.

“This is to inform you of my decision to withdraw my earlier letter dated 18th May 2021.

“I wish to state that my earlier letter was as a result of an administrative error,” she wrote.

Thus, Mrs. Quashigah is expected to resume her role as Head of the School Feeding program.

The earlier letter of termination had given no reasons whatsoever for Ms. Quashigah’s false sack.

Given that the letter had come in the wake of the commencement of investigations into alleged corruption in the School Feeding program in some schools in the Ashanti Region, it was speculated that her termination may be connected to that probe.

It is believed that some high-ups had chided Adwoa Sarfo for daring to pull her weight around Mrs. Quashigah, who is the wife of the late Major Courage Quashigah, the former National Coordinator of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP).
