Three inmates of a Police cell in Walewale, North East Region, have reportedly tested positive for coronavirus, the virus that causes Covid-19.
The three are named as Miftaw Ibrahim, 22, Musah Salam, 21 and Aziz Nurudeen also 21 years old.
The Walewale Health Directorate’s COVID-19 team reportedly confirmed the infections today Thursday, January 21, 2021.
Samples of the victims are said to have returned positive readings after bodily fluids of 10 inmates were taken for testing upon request on January 19, 2021.
The three inmates have been isolated at one of the cells at Nasia police station undergoing treatment according to reports
Meanwhile, the Health Directorate has confirmed that it has commenced contact tracing.
