Akufo-Addo’s Advisor, Amoako Tufuor Dies Of Covid-19

The reports about the death of Presidential Advisor, Amoako Tufuor, has been confirmed along
with the cause of death.
He is said to have died of the deadly Coronavirus Disease (Covid-19).

Reports about the death of the man who is well known for the school feeding program and a
number of scandals that erupted around the program hit the media late morning Thursday, but
there was no confirmation.

It was especially difficult to break the news because he was said to have died of the virus.
However, multiple sources, including some from within government have confirmed the
tragedy.

Dr. Tuffour was said to have been receiving treatment for the disease when he succumbed to it.
His death adds to the list of high profile people, both within government and in private life who
have been killed in the current second wave of the virus. Earlier in the week, National Security
Coordinator, Joshua Kyeremeh had also died of the disease.
In the private sector, the high profile deaths have included that of Philip Odei Asare, Managing

Director of the Best Point Savings and Loans and a teacher of the Alsyd private school located at Airport in Accra.
Over the weekend, a  Teacher at the Ghana International School. Dora Baah, reportedly also
died.

The new wave of Covid-19 deaths have been blamed on laxity in Covid-19 prevention on the
part of Ghanaians during the Christmas holidays and the 2020 elections.
