NDC MPs Debunk Video Claiming EC Has Officially Declared Techiman South For The NPP

A video purportedly capturing the Electoral Commission’s declaration of the contested Techiman South Parliamentary election results for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been debunked by the Minority in Parliament.

At a program to present pink sheet evidence proving that NDC rather won the election, the NDC MPs said the video making the rounds captures the EC Returning officer for just one Electoral area, declaring the results of that Electoral Area, and not the entire constituency’s results.

WhatsUp News has not seen the supposed video but the NDC placed on record that it captured the election results for the DA JHS 1 B, polling station.

Even so, it said the NDC had problems with the results for that Polling Station because the municipal electoral officer, one Samson Ofori Gyamfi, had only declared the results even though the NDC had flagged the pink sheet there as one conjured by the NPP.

And so that declaration, the Minority said, is something that the NDC has refused to accept. Even so, the NDC presented pink sheets that showed it had won the Techiman South election by a margin of 293 votes.

Two weeks after the Electoral Commission declared the Techiman seat for the NPP, it has not published the collated results or pink sheets by which it made the declaration.

The NDC has demanded that it Parliamentary candidate, Christopher Beyere Baasongti, be declared MP-elect for Techiman South before the eve of the swearing-in on 7th January.
