President Akufo Addo’s COVID-19 Updates Reveals Possible Pre-Recording

President Akufo Addo who is on a private trip to London has issued a notice on his Facebook that he will be delivering his 20th COVID-19 update today, December 20, 2020.

According to the post, the post made this afternoon, the President, around 8 p.m today, will be updating the nation about “measures taken against the spread of Coronavirus”

The problem with this notice is that the President is not scheduled to return to Ghana until December 21, 2020. This has heightened speculations that the speech would either be broadcasted live from the President’s home in London, or it is a pre-recorded message made before he left Ghana last week Sunday.

Already, the President has criticisms for pre-recording his now-regular COVID-19 updates.

There was no sign that the President arrived in Ghana on Saturday, December 19, 2020, to prepare for today’s public address neither has there been any official government communique that the President will address the public as soon as he arrives in Ghana today, Sunday, December 20, 2020.

Last Sunday, the Jubilee House issued a statement announcing that President Akufo Addo was travelling to attend the presidential inauguration ceremonies of two newly elected despotic African Presidents: Alassane Ouattara, President-elect of Cote d’Ivoire and Alpha Conde of Guinea.

After the inauguration ceremonies in Ivory Coast and Guinea, President Akufo Addo will cool off in London for an unknown number of days before returning to Ghana on December 21, 2020, the Jubilee House stated.

The strange scheduling of the President’s public address today has therefore sparked wild speculations on social media, with many wondering how the President will deliver his statement from his base in London.
