Martin Alamisi Amidu has woken up to the realization that the promise by Jubilee House that it will not comment about Martin Amidu again may be a decoy, as the “unstable” Assin Central Member of Parliament , Kennedy Agyapong appear to have been unleashed to do the dirty work
Amidu who appears to have seen through the strategy of using surrogates to attack his reputation, has issued a stern warning to the Akufo Addo government and the President that he will be compelled to open a can worms that will shock the people of Ghana, if Agyapong continues on his frontal attacks on his reputation.
He issued this warning today November 19, 2020 when Accra-based Citi FM exclusively interviewed him for the first time since his resignation last week.
Martin Amidu in a shocking move had resigned as the Special Prosecutor after he accused President AKufo Addo of attempting to influence him on the anti-corruption assessment he did on the dubious Agyapa Royalties transaction spearheaded by President Akufo Addo’s nephew and Finance Minister, Ken Ofori-Atta.
“The concerted efforts led by the Presidency of Ghana and his government to discredit my integrity for producing a professional report on the analysis of the risk of prevention of corruption and anti-corruption assessment is bound to fail because the Ghanaian of 2020 is not the Ghanaian of 2016 who believed the mere rhetoric of fighting corruption”, he stated.
Mr. Amidu also stated that claims by controversial NPP member of Parliament for Assin Central Constituency, Ken Agyapong that the former Attorney General had a serious medical record in Germany was false.
Kennedy Agyapong during, his regular appearances on ‘the Seat show’ hosted on his Net2 TV on Wednesday night, daring Mr. Amidu to bring his medical record from Germany to determine whether he is normal or not. The Law Maker claimed that during his vetting, Mahama Ayariga, an NDC member of the appointment committee was going to ask Amidu about his medical status but for an intervention from the NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama
“I have never had any reason or occasion to visit Germany throughout my life, let alone visit any medical facility on health grounds. The records of my travels which are available to the lying Kenedy Agyapong’s gov’t can be checked and the German Embassy contacted whether I have throughout my life made an application for visa or visited Germany”, he stated.
Citing the reason for his interview with Citi Fm’s Omaru Sanda which went viral this afternoon, Martin Amidu said he was called by the Journalist to respond to one of the usual allegation by the MP which got published on Ghanaweb on 19th November 2020.
He noted that after interviewing him, Citi fm succumbed to pressures from the government not to proceed to air the interview at midday as was the condition precedent to the interview.
“Citi Fm refused to air the interview, apparently because of interferences from government which got wind of the interview from a friend”, he said.
This is perhaps the reason why Amidu, this evening, released a press statement warning the government to restrain Kennedy Agyapong from the war path he has been coached to embark on.
Martin Amidu warned that further provocation may force him to release the damning dossier of scandals he has on the Akufo Addo government, saying he was ready to die if they push him to fight back.
He claims he suspect that agents of the government may be planning a hit on him.
The interview has since gone viral and has thrown the government into panic mode, as President Akufo Addo today ordered the Inspector-General of Police to provide Mr. Amidu with 24/7 police protection.
