NDC To Hold Vigil For Rawlings

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is holding a vigil for the late former President Jerry John Rawlings tonight, November 15, 2020.

The Greater Accra Regional branch of the party says it is collaborating with the National Executives Committee of the main opposition party founded by the late Rawlings, to honor the memory of their Founder.

Venue for the program is the Obra Spot at the Kwame Nkrumah Circle in Accra.

In attendance are leaders of the party, including the 2020 flagbearer, former President John Mahama, his Running Mate, Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang and other party leaders including National Chairman, Samuel Ofosu Ampofo and General Secretary, Mr. Johnson Asiedu Nketia.

The wake which commenced at 3 pm will last through the night and is expected to also draw members from the diplomatic corps and other dignitaries to the Obra Spot.

The party has sanctioned black, red or party colors, as the dress code for the occasion.

The 73-year-old former President Rawlings died suddenly on Thursday at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital, where he had reportedly been receiving treatment for an illness that some are speculating to be covid-19.
