IBRAHIM MAHAMA SUES SEXIST Wuntumi For GHC 5 million

Bother of ex-President Mahama, Ibrahim Mahama has slapped a GHC 5 million suit on Bernard Antwi Boasiako “Chairman Wontumi” for defamation.

The loudmouthed Chairman Wuntumi who is also the Ashanti Regional Chairman of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP)   businessman and the politician for defamation.

In the suit filed at the Accra High Court on July 13, 2020, Mr. Mahama who is the founder of  Engineers and Planners, claims Chairman Wuntumi had defamed him for suggesting that he (Ibrahim Mahama) illegally amassed wealth during the Presidency of his brother, John Dramani Mahama.

“He has bought a car, it is said he has bought a car for Hajia for Real. Then he has bought a house and given it to her in addition, then he has snatched Kenpong’s girl. Because the money that [he has], it was when we just came into power, that his brother went and stole money for him. Do you understand?,” Chairman Wontumi is reported to have said on his radio and TV stations in Kumasi.

In a writ, Mr Mahama said the ‘false’ comments have hurt his reputation as an internationally renowned businessman.

“As an internationally renowned business executive and entrepreneur, Plaintiff has suffered an exceedingly serious damage to his hard-earned reputation by being portrayed to right-thinking members of the society as a people or moral decadence who is not law-abiding,” Mahama stated in the suit.

Ibrahim Mahama is seeking an injunction and the huge damage against the embattled Chairman Wuntumi.

Chairman Wuntumi who has reportedly been responsible for inspiring illegal Chinese gold mining in Ghana has been a loose cannon whose recent utterances has earned him serious flak from the public.

His latest verbal attacks were aimed at the newly-selected Vice-Presidential candidate of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyeman.

Wuntumi described her as ugly and a witch, in what has sent the public and feminist groups on a tongue-lashing spree.
