30 Burnt to Charcoal in Gory Kintampo Accident

About 30 people have been burnt beyond recognition in a fatal accident this morning on the notorious Kintampo-Tamale highway in the Bono East Region

The casualties involve include adults, women and children, Whatsup News gathered.

According to eye-witnesses, a Yutong bus at high speed collided with a Mercedes mini Sprinter bus with registration number AS 1801-18. The impact of the collision caused an explosion of fire that charred the trapped passengers in both vehicles.

Local reports suggest the Yutong bus may have veered off its lane while trying to overtake another vehicle, resulting in the fatal crash.

As at Press time, authorities were salvaging the charred remains of the victims, while survivors were rushed to the Kintampo and Techiman Hospitals.

The accident has once more raised concerns about indiscipline on Ghanaian roads and the failure of the government to invest in road infrastructure.
