Sherifa Gunu shares story behind ‘Susupon’ song

Ghanaian Afro Soul Musician, Sherifa Gunu has stated that her displeasure towards the hypocrisy of Africans inspired her to produce her latest work dubbed ‘Susupon’.

In an interview with Foster Romanus on the Late Nite Celebrity show, Sherifa Gunu expressed her frustration when she said: “It all started when I started touring the western world. I don’t understand. I mean, are we different? The problem of Africa is never poverty. It is hypocrisy”.

She pleaded with politicians, non-politicians and business tycoons to build Africa and “stop carrying Africa’s money to another place”.

Sherifa Gunu exemplified her point by stating that Ghana has more sun that the western world. However, the western world are able to fully make and use solar energy as against Ghana that lacks solar power.

The musician advised that the leaders and people of Africa change their mindset on the things they believe are right, but are actually killing people, and to stop doing things only for personal gains or only for their families.

Sherifa has over the years produced soothing music of which one became the theme song of the Ghana’s most beautiful pageantry. She has also featured the likes of Sarkodie, Efya, Kwabena Kwabena, among others. She is currently promoting her new song dubbed ‘Susupon’ and she is a multiple award-winning soul musician.
