Defiant Pastor Arrested Again For Holding Church Service Despite Ban

The Head Pastor of the Open Arms Ministry, located at North Suntreso in the Ashanti Region is back in the grips of the Police, after he defied the government’s ban on mass gathering and convened another Church service after he had been arrested for the same offence a few days prior.

Apostle Kofi Nkansa Sarkodie aka King Sark was picked up by the Buffalo Unit of the Ashanti regional Police just five days after he was granted a Police enquiry bail after a first arrest.

The Police have said they will arraign him before court.

President Akufo-Addo last week banned public gathering of more than 25 people as part of the national response to the deadly coronavirus pandemic which has now infected 24 and killed one in the country.

Following the declaration, Parliament has since passed a controversial Imposition of Restriction Bill to clothe the President with essentially wartime powers that legitimizes his the imposition of restrictions.

However, in spite of the development, the North Suntresso based Open Heavens Ministry leader gathered his the congregation on Sunday  morning for service in total defiance of the Presidential ban.

It is not clear why the Police only keeps arresting Apostle King Sark and a few of his henchmen but leaves the congregants who along with their Pastor defy the presidential order.
