Mike Ocquaye, Adwoa Sarfo locked in Death threats as In-fighting Threatens NPP Parliamentary Race

The scheduled parliamentary primaries of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) has whipped up serious in-fighting set to crack the party’s front. The latest is an alert of death threats to the Member of Parliament for Dome Kwabenya Sarah Adwoa Sarfo.

Ms Sarfo who is also the Minister of Procurement is alleging that the threats to her life may be coming from the Speaker of Parliament Prof. Mike Aaron Ocquaye and his family. Ms Sarfo is facing a stiff competition with Mike Ocquaye Jnr., the Speaker’s son for the Dome Kwabenya seat.

“This lawlessness and indiscipline must stop. They thought I was in my Chairman’s house so I was the target. The perpetrator is Speaker’s driver. His supporters went and attacked my chairman and vandalized his house. The party must stop this because my life is being threatened,” a shaken Adwoa Sarfo is quoted in reports seen by Whatsup News.

Apparently, the assailants had tracked her to the home of one Osei Bonsu the NPP Constituency Chairman of Dome Kwabenya and had beaten the chairman to pulp when they realised their target was not around.

In what appears to be a dress rehearsal of what may engross the ruling party’s parliamentary primaries, the Dome Kwabenya constituency has been gripped with serious accusations and counter accusations.

Supporters of Mr. Mike Oquaye Jnr. have, however, accused the incumbent MP of attempting to manipulate the constituency’s electoral register and rig the primaries in her favour.

Mike Ocquaye’s supporters are claiming that the alleged assault was sparked by some angry constituency members sensing that the said register had been smuggling into the home of the constituency chairman for the alteration.
