#FixTheCountry Gets US$50,000 Grant

The Open Society Foundation, a grant-making network based in the US has given a US$50,000 grant to the #FixTheCountry pressure group.

This was made known by lead activist, Oliver Barker-Vormawor on Tuesday while he was in the custody of the Police following a second arrest within a matter of weeks by the Akufo-Addo government.

“…I am happy to announce that #fixTheCountry has been awarded 50,000 dollars by the Open Society Foundation,” Mr. Barker had written Tuesday Morning while in custody.

The Open Society Foundation is a US-based grant-making network founded by notorious business magnate, George Soros.

It supports civil society groups around the world with the stated aims of advancing justice, education, public health and independent media.

However, the Open Society has been linked to destabilisation forces in several parts of the world by infiltrating activist movements and causing civil unrest that only furthers the speculated Marxist agenda of Soros.

Soros is linked to the Black Lives Matter Movement (BLM) and the anarchist pseudo-Anti-Fascist (Antifa) group.

In Ghana, #FixTheCountry has been demanding better governance and in response, the Akufo-Addo government has been arresting its lead activist, Oliver Barker-Vormawor.

He is currently facing treason felony charges after he wrote on social media that he would stage a coup if the unpopular e-levy tax was approved.

The arrest has earned the Akufo-Addo government a lot of criticism because Mr. Barker-Vormawor was seen to have used the word “coup” in a literary, rather than literal sense.

On Tuesday, he was arrested again for an alleged road traffic offense (careless and inconsiderate driving) while driving on his way to court.

“I am currently being held in cell at the Madina Court. My phone is still with me. Very bizarre that I had never been arrested in life. Yet, in just one year of #FixTheCountry activism, I have already been arrested three times,” he wrote.

“I have also already been sued three times, twice by the Ghana Police Service and by the Electoral Commissioner. Anyway, it must all be a coincidence. I’s sure. No one is above the law, except the President.”

Oliver Mawuse BARKER-Vormawor is not the only #FixTheCountry activist who has suffered for his activism. Last year, another activist, Macho Kaaka, was murdered. The government has however denied involvement.
