Confusion Rocks NPP’s Polling Station Executive Vying For Election

Confusion has marred the polling station nomination of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) as fights break out and scores of aspirants seeking to pick up nomination forms are left stranded in multiple locations.

For instance, scores were left stranded at the party’s office in the Kwadaso Constituency in the Ashanti Region when aspirants who wanted to pick up forms realised the party office was under lock and keys.

In the Kade Constituency office of the NPP in the Eastern Region confusion broke out when aspirants claimed they believe party executives were hoarding nomination forms and preventing certain people from picking up the forms.

The confusion in Kade reportedly led to an angry aspirant pulling out a gun and threatening to shoot into the crowd that had massed up at the venue.

The governing NPP on February 19, 2022, started its month-long internal processes to elect officers for the party at the polling station level. The process is scheduled till March 19, 2022.

Meanwhile, with the decision of Mr. Kyeremanteng to fund the nomination form for these polling agents, he has sent a clear signal to other aspiring presidential hopefuls of the ruling party like Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia that he is firmly in the race.
