I’ve Been Trying To Interview Akufo-Addo Since 2017 …Pratt

Veteran journalist, Kwesi Pratt Jnr. has revealed that President Akufo-Addo has been avoiding an interview with him like the plague since 2017 when the President took office.

On Accra-based Peace FM, Mr. Pratt made the revelation while interviewing Kwame Sefa Kayi, host of the ‘Kokrokoo’ morning show for getting to host Akufo-Addo on the show.

“I want to commend Chairman General, what I have wanted to do and failed, he (Sefa Kayi) has been able to do. Kwame, over the last five years, I have done all it takes to be able to interview the president and I haven’t succeeded. I’m telling you. I don’t know what you told him or did, I have tried all I could but have failed, so I commend you. You have achieved what I failed to do,” Pratt said.

The revelation is coming at a time that a Canada-based Ghanaian woman called Evelyn has published a video revealing President Akufo-Addo had spent good times with her and used all charm that he can command to chase after her.

If the woman’s claim is true, it means Mr. President has time to chase after women but no time to give Kwesi Pratt an interview. And President Akufo-Addo has publicly claimed Mr. Pratt is his good friend.

Meanwhile, President Akufo-Addo’s interview on Peace FM follows a tradition of granting that particular channel, perceived to be a pro-NPP radio station, interviews.

In the lead-up to the 2020 elections, Akufo-Addo had fled an interview challenge from former President Mahama and gone on to Peace FM to give a long interview.
