Akufo-Addo’s Cousin, Gabby, Fights For Gay Rights

Gabby Asare Otchere Darko, the powerful cousin of President Akufo-Addo who is known to be the President’s chief advisor, is up in arms against the controversial bill, “Promotion of Proper Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill, 2021, before Parliament seeking to criminalise homosexuality.

The confessed atheist is calling the bill an instrument of hate that will earn Ghana a blackballing by the powerful international community, especially the western axis of pro-gay pressure.

“…this Bill only serves one purpose: to get Ghana blacklisted for promoting hate!” Mr. Otchere Darko, nicknamed, “Octopus” for his omnipresence in almost every controversial move by his cousin’s government, tweeted.

Mr. Otchere Darko wants the anti-gay bill which is sponsored by the NDC MP for Ningo Prampram, Sam George, to be abandoned so that homosexuals, lesbians and transgender people can be free to love.

And in his Gay activism, the octopus has sought to harangue former President John Mahama into a public debate with him on gay rights. Recently, he demanded that Mr. Mahama make his stance known on the anti-gay Bill.

“Is former President and presidential aspirant John Mahama for or against the Boy George Bill?” he tweeted sarcastically.

Meanwhile, the bill is likely to pass even though the ruling party has been pussyfooting in taking a firm stance on it.

Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu has indicated that the two sides of the house are united over the Bill, even though out of eight MPs pushing the bill, only one is from the NPP.
