President Akufo-Addo on Friday 17th September led a delegation to the 76th Session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
A statement from the government says he will hold bilateral engagements with some of his peer Heads of State and Governments.
The President will also hold talks with NATO Secretary-General, MR. J. Stoltenberg; top Economist Jeffery Sachs; World Trade Organization Chief Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, as well as other world figures.
He will also hold engagements with sections of Ghanaians and the business community while there, the statement said.
President Akufo-Addo will also participate in the Second Sustainable Development Goals Moment of the Decade of Action, and witness the Signing Ceremony between Minister for Tourism, Ibrahim Awal Mohammed, and Developers of the Dubois Project.
On 22nd September, Mr. Akufo-Addo will address the UN General Assembly and participate in the Global COVID-19 Summit hosted By US President Joe Biden.
He will later hold several rounds of engagements and UN events on climate change, health and food security.
Then, on 23rd September, the President will attend a fundraising event for the National Cathedral.
In accordance with Article 60 (8) of the Constitution, Vice President, Alhaji Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, is acting President while the President is away.
President Akufo-Addo is expected to return on Monday 27th September 2021.
