NPP Presidential Race: Konadu Apraku Comes Out of The Woodwork

A New Patriotic Party stalwart, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku, has reportedly started serious moves to become the next presidential candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 race.

His presidential campaign posters have already flooded social media.

Although he has not made an official announcement, political observers point out that the posters are tell-tale signs that the former Regional Integration Minister is lacing his boots to give Vice President Bawumia a run for his money.

President Akufo Addo is reportedly preparing his Vice, Bawumia, to be his successor in what is believed to be a scheme to further the Akufo Addo hegemony through a potential puppet flagbearer and potential president.

However, the opposing camp within the ruling party will not have it, Whatsup New has gathered.

Apraku is the latest wild card thrown into the game.

The substantive ace within the so-called Kufour Camp within the NPP is current Trade Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyeremanteng.

Kyeremanteng is seen as the most plausible flagbearer of the NPP, having been the only man who had given Akufo Addo his biggest challenge in at least two presidential races in the party.

However, Kyeremanteng is reportedly taking calculated steps which are alleged to be countered by President Akufo Addo’s scheming.

Meanwhile, Apraku’s entry into the game was made obvious a day ago when he issued an official statement celebrating the Eid-ul -Ahda celebrations with Ghanaian Muslims.
