Suspicion Over Akufo Addo’s Health -As Pre-recorded COVID-19 Address coincides with 9-Day Trip Abroad.

President Nana Akufo-Addo’s pre-recorded 25th COVID-19 address to the nation today May 16, 2021, is already sparking serious concerns as he is believed to have been flown out of the country on Saturday, May 15, 2021, for medical attention.

Whatsup News has been unable to confirm the veracity of the reports that the president may have been seriously ill, requiring him to be flown out on an emergency flight.

The plot thickens even more because, late last week, the Jubilee House sent a notice to the Ghanaian Parliament that President Akufo Addo was scheduled to leave the country on May 16, 2021, for a 9-day official trip to France, Belgium and South Africa.

It, therefore, comes across as extremely curious that on the same day the President is expected to have already been airborne, the Ministry of Information and the President’s personal Facebook page has posted that he will be delivering the 25th COVID-19 updates to the country.

That address is scheduled for 8 pm on Sunday, May 16, 2021. It is unclear if the President will be rushed to the airport to make a night flight to France immediately after the COVID-19 address or the entire arrangement only reaffirms rife speculations that the President’s speech had often been pre-recorded.

Reliable sources at the Jubilee House told Whatsup News that the President was “very tired” prior to when reports emerged that he had been hurriedly evacuated out of the country for alleged medical attention.

The last time the President addressed the country on COVID-19 was on February 28, 2021, when he announced the arrival of the 600,000 AstraZeneca vaccine doses gifted to Ghana by the GAVI Vaccine Alliance.

It is, therefore, curious the urgency for another COVID-19 update on a day that the President is expected to make his first major trip out of the country since the pandemic broke out in the country in March 2021.
