NPP Became Hateful When I Refused To Join Them …Bridgette Otoo

Former TV 3 journalist, Bridgette Otoo, has revealed she was driven to fall in love with the National Democratic Congress (NDC) because of hatred from the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

In an interview with Nana Aba Anamoah on Starr FM, Ms Otoo reveals that while she was still with TV 3, she had been approached by some people in the NPP to join the Communications team of the party. However, because she was still a journalist and wanted to remain neutral, she declined the offer.

This, according to her, offended the NPP people who branded her NDC and became hostile towards her. She, therefore, gravitated towards the NDC as a matter of defiance to the NPP tyranny.

On social media, the former broadcaster has become an activist for the NDC, defending the party over many issues. She however also criticizes the NDC where criticism is due.

Bridgette Otoo told Nana Aba Anamoah that she sees the Ghanaian media as generally biased against the NDC and more aligned towards the NPP.

She also said from her experience as a journalist, she realizes that former President Mahama is a very accommodating person compared to the NPP’s Akufo-Addo, and while covering the 2016 elections, she had the opportunity to experience the aura of both men.

According to her, defending the NDC was initially for fun, However, she decided to take it seriously because of the hatred from the NPP.

Bridgette Otoo opined that former President Mahama remains the NDC’s best bet for the 2024 election.
