A family of four has been burnt to death at Manso Aponapon in the Amansie South District of the Ashanti Region after fire gutted their home while they were sleeping.
The victims are Kofi Owusu, 48, his pregnant wife, 32-year-old Esther Kwabena, and their two children, Sarah Owusu, 9 and Kwadwo Awuah, 5.
Four other persons who were tenants in the 8 bedroom house escaped with various degrees of burns and have been hospitalized.
The cause of the fire is not immediately known. It was said to have started at around 11:30 pm, on Saturday. The Police and Fore Service have since opened investigations.
Meanwhile, the charred remains of the victims have been deposited at the St. Martins Hospital mortuary at Agroyesum.
