Maverick NPP Member of Parliament for Assin North Hon. Kennedy Agyapong has issued a strong warning to some people within the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) not to push the party into opposition, otherwise, he will be the “first casualty”.
According to him, these people including some workers at the National Lottery Authority (NLA) are busy doing things that would push the party into opposition.
“I will be the first casualty if NPP goes into opposition so we won’t allow anybody to disturb the party”, he concluded.
It is unclear what Ken Agyapong meant by “casualty” as he sparks speculations that he is afraid for his fate following some dubious contracts he reportedly secured under the current administration, including some multi-million-dollar street lighting deal to his wife that did not go through proper procurement processes.
Ken Agyapong has also been fingered in a number of murders, including the suspicious cold-blooded assassination of the NPP MP, J.B Danquah-Adu and undercover investigative journalist, Ahmed Hussein-Suale.
In both cases, Ken Agyapong stuck out for either his telling actions or references to him by the culprits.
Meanwhile, Mr. Agyapong explained during an interview recently that he has toiled hard to see the party come into power and will not watch on idly as people who didn’t do anything for the party led it into opposition.
“Some of us really worked hard to ensure victory for the party in last year’s elections, it was not a joke,” Kennedy Agyapong said.
He continued that “I went around the country several times and ensured that Akufo-Addo won the elections, I knew the problems I went through while going and so we won’t sit down for any individual to disturb the party. “
