Armed Robbers Shoot Police Officer Dead In Bullion Van Heist

A Police officer was shot dead in an armed robbery attack on Ghana Commercial Bank (GCB) van at Nyakumasu in the Adansi Asokwa District of the Ashanti Region.
The officer who has not yet been identified was reportedly fired on while giving Police escort to the van on a motorbike.
The suspected robbers are said to have trailed the van with registration number, GT 543-19, to a lone street where they first fired at the officer on the motorbike. They subsequently closed in on the vehicle and shot at another security man and a GCB staff in the back seat of the van.
According to reports, the two other gunshot victims were rushed to the hospital and were alive as at the time of filing this report, however, the Police officer had not been so lucky.
It is not clear if they managed to take any money away with them but the robbers successfully escaped after the attack.
