The 70-year-old man who died in a hotel room while reportedly servicing a woman with sex enhancement drugs has been identified as Eric Osei Ansere, the Krontihene of Akim Chia near Ofoase in the Eastern Region.
According to the online news portal, MyNewsGh.com, the chief had disguised himself as William Agyei when he checked into the hotel with an unidentified lady, and had had a heated bout of sex until he passed out.
He was found dead the following day by the hotel manager. The dead chief’s companion had disappeared into thin air.
The deceased had checked into the hotel room with a red traveling bag containing his royal regalia and a full cache of sex enhancement drugs such as Viagra.
Also among his personal effects are, deep heat spray, Unirob Polar Ice, Bendroflumethiazide tablets and several other used tablets, as well as GHC 2,000.
Chief Ansere had reportedly checked into the guest house over the weekend in a red Toyota Corolla with registration number ER 1614-17 and lodged at room 40 located at Effiduase in the Eastern Region.
When he checked in, he had the lady, believed to be his secret lover in tow.
According to reports, at about 12noon on Sunday, December 20, 2020, when hotel cleaners wanted to clean his room he refused to open the door after several knocks. This raised suspicion and thus caused the guest house receptionist to use a spare key to open the door.
They were stunned by the sight in the room, with the chief sprawling on the bed with his mouth foaming.
It is currently unclear if he had taken an overdose of his medication or his lover knew something about the death.
The Eastern Regional Police Command has mounted investigations into the mysterious death. There is also a manhunt for the lover who is believed to be on the run currently.
