Mahama’s Running Mate Is Wanted In Nkawkaw

The Vice Presidential Candidate of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Prof. Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang, is said to be wanted in Nkawkaw, where many people who had turned up to meet her on a not-to be campaign stop were left disappointed.

According to sources, the people in Nkawkaw are refusing to accept that Prof. Opoku Agyemang’s campaign tour of the Eastern Region has been wrapped without touching base at Nkawkaw.

Among others, Zongo Chiefs, town fathers, community elders and opinion elders, along with teeming youth were looking forward to her arrival at the place, but it never happened.

The crowd had been told she was to arrive at 12 o’clock pm on a certain day but she never turned leaving many disappointed.

According to sources, Prof. Opoku Agyaemang’s campaign team had to cancel the stopover at Nkawkaw because of time constraints that cropped up and threw her itinerary out of order.

She therefore bypassed Nkawkaw, but made stopovers at Abirem, Anyinam, Kwabeng and Atiwa.

Earlier this week, former President John Dramani Mahama announced that Prof. Opoku Agyemang would join him at a Townhall Meeting in Cape Coast, Capital of the Central Region.

Meanwhile, rumours that have emerged to the effect that Prof. Opoku Agyemang’s tour of the Eastern region had been hamstringed by poor preparation has been dismissed by the NDC, which is calling the claims, fake.
