The father of the 28-year-old man who was stabbed to death by suspected NPP activists is demanding justice for his son.
Mr. Ofosu Gyeabour is calling on President Akufo-Addo to cause the perpetrators to be apprehended.
“…my son is now in the morgue, we cannot bring him back but we want for justice,” Mr. Gyeabour said in an interview with journalists,” the distraught father wailed.
His son, Silas Wulor Chame was set upon by suspected NPP goons at Banda and was stabbed several times. The thugs were reportedly led by the brother of the NPP’s 2020 Parliamentary Candidate for the area.
The deceased had been mistaken by the NPP thugs for a member of the NDC, Whatsup News gathered. After the incident, the victim was rushed to a hospital but could not survive the attack.
MP for the area, Ahmed Ibrahim has said that since the incident, the Police have been given information on the whereabouts of the murderers but the Police have refused to act.
Meanwhile, the Banda Traditional Council has warned that the violence in the area will no longer be tolerated.
Kwabena Boadu, Secretary to the Banda Traditional Council has said that the intimidation going on in Banda has made it scary for people to go out and register to vote.
“What happened was very serious and it brings chaos in our area here. What we are saying is that we are all citizens of Banda and therefore we need peace in Banda district. What is going on has made the people of Banda afraid to go out and register. If it keeps going on, we will advise ourselves,” he said.
