Mahama Drags Abronye DC To Police Over Wild Allegations

A notorious loose cannon of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been formally reported to the Police by former President John Mahama over very wild allegations that he made against the former President on live TV.

Mr. Mahama, through his lawyers LitthurBrew Company petitioned the Director General of the Police Criminal Investigations Department over Kwame Baffoe, alias Abronye DC’s allegations, including claims the former President Mahama murdered the late President Mills.

“My instructions are that in a recording of a TV programme on Net 2 TV, Madina, Accra, which has been circulating on various social media platforms, including Facebook and WhatsApp,
Abronye DC made certain false claims, alleging a plot masterminded by the NDC and his Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, to assassinate some NPP personalities including he, Abronye DC, himself,” the letter from Lawyer Tony Lithur read.
It added that “on the programme, Abronye DC announced to the general public that some NPP personalities would be assassinated by NDC hirelings who would be wearing NPP t-shirts, and that these hirelings would be doing the bidding of former President John Mahama.
“His Excellency, John Dramani Mahama, has firmly instructed me to say that the allegations are, of course, false, and for the avoidance of doubt, would like to state that neither the NDC nor he has planned to hire, hired or cause to be hired or instructed any person or persons to murder or assassinate anybody.”
Abronye DC, known for his notoriety in peddling political lie, is the NPP’s Chairman for the Bono Region. In 2017, a similar tirade against some members of his own party led to an attack at a party meeting that led to his hospitalization with a broken arm.

Net 2 where he made the allegation belongs to the NPP’s MP for Assin Central, Ken Agyapong, who himself is a worst spit-fire than Abronye.

Ken Agyapong and his Net 2 tend to be arsenals that the NPP uses whenever the party wants to run a dirty smear campaign against opponents. Mr. Agyapong has in a fit of anger said in the past that he would not do that kind of dirty job anymore.

Apparently, the John Mahama killing Atta Mills conspiracy theory was deliberately cooked and handed over to one of the NPP’s most notorious loose canons to poison the air with.

Even though the letter from Mr. Mahama’s lawyers denied the claims that the former President has organized thugs to assassinate NPP members and demanded a probe of the allegations under the Publication of Fake news law section 208 of Act 29, the former President said he would not dignify Abronye’s claim about he murdering former President Mills with any reply.
