WHO Director General Abused As ‘Black Nigger’ By Americans Who Want Him Out

The Director General of the World Health Organization (WHO) Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, has revealed that he has been at the receiving end of threats and nasty racial abuse by people who want him out as head of the world body.

Revealing his ordeal, the Ethiopian said he has been derogatorily referred to as “black” and “negro” by detractors who are believed to be American politicians.

“”I can tell you personal attacks that have been going on for more than 2-3 months. Abuses or racist comments, giving me names…even death threats. I don’t give a damn.

“When it’s personal, even death threats, I didn’t care. When as community, people start to insult us, that’s enough.”

Dr. Ghebreyesus says he endured the attacks on him, including threats on his life silently but could not take it when his race was attacked.

The revelation is coming at a time that American politicians are accusing him of covering up for China, which has allegedly been obscurantist about the data on the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

US politicians have been at the fore front of the campaign to push the WHO director out for trusting China’s official reporting about the extent of the spread of the disease.

The Chinese Government has been accused of significantly downplaying its official virus cases, with some estimates suggesting their death toll could be as high as 40,000.

Republican Senator, Marth McSally, is quoted as saying “Dr Tedros deceived the world. At one point, he even praised China’s ‘transparency during its coronavirus response efforts despite a mountain of evidence showing the regime concealed the severity of the outbreak. This deception cost lives.”

Fellow Republican Senator, Ted Cruz, has also called on WHO to remove the Ethiopian as head. A spokesman of his told The Washington Free Beacon that “Sen. Cruz believes that the WHO has lost the credibility necessary for it to be effective, and a reevaluation of its leadership is urgently called for.”

However, the African Union has come to the defense of Dr. Ghebreyesus saying it is surprised at the accusations against the Ethiopian.

Many other African leaders, including Rwanda’s Paul Kagame, has warned that the moves against Dr. Ghebreyesus is an extension of American politics with China that nobody needs at the moment.

“The most potent weapon against #COVID19 and its devastating health, social & economic impact is international cooperation & solidarity, which is why the exceptional leadership displayed daily  @WHO & @DrTedros during an unprecedented global public health crisis is calculable,” Mr. Kagame tweeted on April 8.
