Norwegian Govt, GoG in Suspected Cover up of Akufo-Addo’s Infection with Covid 19

Following the confirmation that Norwegian Ambassador to Ghana, Grunar Andrea Holm, has been infected with corona virus and a contact-trace leading to President Akufo-Addo, subsequent chronology of events have sparked suspicion that Jubilee House is being obscurantist.

There are signs that President Akufo-Addo is in quarantine as the seat of government deliberately tiptoes around the question. But while at it, a hefty contribution by the Government of Norway to a GoG chest to fund a response against the deadly virus has led to grim hints.

Apparently, President Akufo-Addo has taken ill from coming in contact with Ambassador Holm during the incubation period of the Norwegian’s infection with the deadly virus, and the Norwegians threw cash at government as part of the apology.

A chronology of events from President Akufo-Addo’s suspected infection from Amb. Holm has also been sparking fears that the President is a carrier of the virus who may have already spread it to many.

The Ghana President traveled to Norway on the 25th of February and in keeping with protocol, had Ambassador Grunar Andrea Holm in tow. Mr. Grunar was practically all over the President while Akufo-Addo was there.

Apparently, while hobnobbing with the Ghana President Mr. Holm was still in the incubation phase of his infection and so had smudged the President about with the infection without knowing.

Incidentally, after Akufo-Addo had touched down in Norway on the 25th of February, the country confirmed its first infection, the very next day, the 26th of February. Ambassador Holm returned to Ghana on the 29th of February and was confirmed to be carrying the virus on the 12th of March. From 26th February to 12th March when the Ambassador’s infection was confirmed is 14 days, the period within which the virus incubated.

Meanwhile, after departing from Norway on the 27th of February, President Akufo-Addo junketed to the UK which has had travel ban issued against it by the US over the corona virus infections and then traveled to Switzerland before returning to Ghana on the 4th of March.

It would be recalled that on the 5th of March, Ambassador Grunar Holm had held a party and invited over high profile Akufo-Addo appointees and the President. Again, Mr. Holm, who was by now on the brink of showing symptoms was very meddlesome with the appointees.

Per contact tracing, the Ambassador is also known to have been in touch with many Embassy staff and dignitaries who are all now at risk.

The following day, 6th of March, the President flew to Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital to headline the 63rd Independence Anniversary march past there. Already, many observers have said former Presidents Mahama and Jerry Rawlings who were conspicuously absent at the event, stayed away because of fear of corona virus.

It has been eight days since President Akufo-Addo headlined the Independence celebrations and all of a sudden he has become conspicuously absent from the sight of citizens. It has been reported that the President has been staying from his private residence at Nima in the past days.

As circumstantial hints indicate that he is in self-imposed quarantine, it has now emerged that one of the mysterious countries which is helping Ghana raise US$100million to fund the country’s anti-corona virus response is Norway.

It would be recalled that President Akufo-Addo had announced the funding in the evening of March 11 provoking questions as to where the money was coming from. in response to these questions,. Information Minister, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah had explained that the money was coming from some donor partners and the Consolidated Fund, without really naming the countries involved.

Interestingly, before Ghanaians would hear the President announce the funding in the evening of 11th March, the Norwegian Embassy had already posted the news on its website earlier in the day. Consequently, the Norwegian Embassy was the first Embassy to post the news.

With the benefit of hindsight, many are concluding that the Norwegian Embassy knew about the government plan before it would be officially communicated.

Increasingly, it is appearing to many that  before the Norwegian Ambassador’s infection with corona virus would be officially confirmed in Ghana, the Norwegians knew about his infection and his Grunar Andrea Holm’s hobnob with President Akufo-Addo.

They feared their Ambassador had infected the Ghanaian President as show of regret had thrown money to Ghana. It is not clear how much Norway is contributing to the funding arrangement but many believe they are actually footing the whole US$100million bill.
