Black Queens coach Mercy Tagoe ready for Kenya clash at Turkish Women’s championship

Black Queens head coach Mercy Tagoe says her players are ready for the game against Kenya at the Turkish Women’s championship.

The Black Queens bounced back from an opening day defeat to Chile to run riot over Norther Ireland B.

But Mercy Tagoe insist her players are focused on the Kenya game and have revenge in sight after losing to the East Africans in the Olympic games qualifier.

“As we all know, we have a pending match against Kenya, a side we played against during the [2020] Olympic Games qualifiers. We drew at home and we were beaten by a lone goal in Nairobi through a penalty in the 119th minute,” said the coach.

“We are currently in the same hotel and have fraternized for some time now but their demeanour tells a lot. All we need is not to focus on them but on the pending match. All the girls are resolute. We’ve had our training sessions and after some pep talks with the ladies, I realized everybody is ready to play.”

A win will see Ghana progress to the semi finals of the competition.
