Deputy Communications Minister and the 2020 Parliamentary hopeful of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) George Nenyi Andah, is having his political backyard ploughed by a familiar nemesis – another Tetteh from the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
After Hannah Tetteh, former MP for Awutu Senya West, bowed out of Parliamentray interests there, her sister, Gizella Tetteh, has received the baton and she has hit the ground running while Mr. Andah is yet to know if he will even make it on the NPP’s ticket at all.
Gizella this week met with the traditional leaders of the Constituency in colorful camaraderie has got many sensing that Mr. Andah’s alleged disrespect for the traditional leaders of the Constituency has swung the attention from him.
Amidst a throng party faithful and town folks, the NDC Parliamentary candidate was received by the paramount Chief of the area, Nana Agyeman Otabil lll and his elders.
Gizella, after receiving their blessings promised that she will concentrate on developing the various tourists sites in the constituency if she is elected MP.
“We have a lot of tourist attractions that have been untapped, we have already started that process by starting the Bawjiase brass band carnival and that is the first touristic intervention that we are going to make, so basically I have taken them up of Awutu senya West And see what else can be done in different areas and that I can guarantee you is one aspect that can bring economic prosperity to our people,” she said.
The traditional elders blessed her envisagement and urged her to tackle the infrastructural deficit in the are when she becomes MP.
Awutu Senya West is one of the interesting swing Parliamentary seats in an equally pendulus Central region.
