La General Hospital shuts down for 2 Years.

The La General Hospital has begun processes to commence a marathon shutdown to make way for an upgrade.

As part of the processes, the La Dade Kotopon Municipal Assembly and the Hospital authorities have made arrangements for patients of the Hospital to be transferred to other health facilities.

The shutdown will last through a two-year period within which the Hospital will undergo construction to upgrade its physical infrastructure. Construction will start next month.

It is estimated that this upgrade will cost the taxpayer, US$52million.

Already, activities around the hospital indicate that shutdown procedures have commenced with construction workers clearing out the building to make way for the planned upgrade.
