Andre Ayew staying put at Swansea City – manager Steve Cooper reveals

Swansea City boss Steve Cooper has reiterated that Ghana forward Andre Ayew is not leaving in the January transfer window despite reports of links to Sunderland.

The Ghana international has been in scintillating form for the Welsh side and is the club’s leading scorer this season.

Ayew has been linked with moves away from Swansea with Sunderland ready to doll out 18 million pounds for the 30-year old.

However, Cooper has confirmed the club will be keeping their most priced asset as they keep fighting for promotion to the Premier League.

“We won’t lose any players that we don’t want to lose,” he said.

“I’ve been asked a million times about Andre, and there’s no news on that by the way, without wanting to tempt fate by bringing it up, but there’ll be none of that going on.

“If any players leave it’ll be right for them and for us as well.”

Swansea travel to Preston on Saturday in the English Championship.
