A second fire has occurred on the campus of Accra Academy in Accra, just two weeks after the first fire razed down a dormitory.
The fire which broke around 10 pm yesterday razed down two dormitories – Alema and Ham Addo.
Just like the first fire a fortnight ago, the cause of this fire as well is not known.
The mystery this morning, alarmed parents into storming the campus to demand that their wards be released for them. However, the school has refused to release the students.
As at this morning, the report was that, no casualty had been recorded because when the fire broke out, the students were in the various classrooms for evening studies, popularly called “preps.”
The emergency response from the Ghana Fire Service was poor, WhatsUp News can confirm. It took over an hour for the Service to reach the campus with fire tenders.
Consequently the dormitories was razed down before the Fire people reached the school.
After the tenders had eventually arrived, it took about an hour to put the fire out with three fire tenders.
